The Colosseum
The Colosseum was built in 70-80 AD and is located in Rome, Italy. It is an oval amphitheater that could hold 50,000-80,000 spectators. The Colosseum was used for mock sea battles, gladiatorial events, public speakings, executions, animal hunts, and theatrical events. The Colosseum has been partially ruined due to earthquakes and stone robbers, but it still remains an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome.

Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and was completed on December 2, 2009. Burj Khalifa is the worlds tallest building standing at 2,722 feet tall. The second tallest building in the world is Shanghai Tower standing at 2,073 feet tall. It took 1.5 billion dollars to build the Burj Khalifa.

Leaning Tower of Pisa
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in Pisa, Italy and was complete in 1372. It began to lean during construction due to an unstable foundation on too soft ground. The building continued to tilt until the late 20th century when it was stabilized. the tower is displaced 12 feet 10 inches. The height of the tower is 183.27 feet tall.
Big Ben
Big Ben is located in London England and was completed in 1855. It was originally referred to as "the clock" or "clock tower". It is on the north end of the Palace of Westminster. When it was completed it was said to be the biggest, most accurate four-faced striking and chiming clock in the world.

Capital Gate
Capital Gate is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emerites. It was completed in 2011 and stands 35 stories tall. It holds the world record for the farthest leaning man made tower, leaning at 18 degrees to the west. This design allows the building to absorb forces created by wind and seismic activity. Capital Gate now houses the 5-star Hyatt hotel and other office spaces.

Cathedral of Brasilia
The Cathedral of Brasilia is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Brasilia Brazil. It was completed on May 31, 1970 and it took 12 years to complete. The cathedral is a hyperboloid structure that is constructed from 16 concrete columns. Each of these columns weighs around 90 tons and are the supports for the building.

30 St Mary Axe
30 St Mary Axe, or The Gherkin is a commercial skyscraper located in London's primary financial district. The building opened in April of 2004, and stands 41 stories tall. The tower gets its name from the street that it is located on, St Mary Axe. Today 30 St Mary Axe is one of London's most recognizable structures and has become a widely recognized example of contemporary architecture.
